Story Hours

The Ellsworth Public Library offers two weekly Storytimes for children 2 - 5 years old on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.  (The same program is presented both days.) Please call 715-273-3209 for more information and to register.

Pajama Story Time

Held at the library for 2 - 7 year olds, at 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. the third Tuesday evening of every month. Join us for bedtime stories, songs, and a snack. Wear your PJ’s and bring your blanket and favorite stuffed animal if you wish. No registration is required for this story time.

(Note: if Ellsworth schools are cancelled due to weather, story time is also cancelled. Any questions, call the library at 273-3209.)

Summer Library Program

A reading program for all ages of children (Preschool – 5th grade) is held during the summer to promote reading. Our program includes exciting reading challenges, fun activities, awesome prizes, and great entertainers. As summer draws near, watch for details of the summer library program at the library and in the local newspaper.

“I Read 100 Stories” Challenge

In March each year, the library challenges pre-school - 2nd grade students to read/be read to 100 stories and 3rd – 5th grade students to read 500 pages, which is equivalent to 100 stories. Books need to be from the Ellsworth Public Library. Readers who complete the challenge will receive an “I Read 100 Stories” T-shirt. Sign up is required. Available for local residents.
